Father's Day

Today is Father's Day, so Happy Father's Day to all of the men who have had a role in shaping our lives. We are grateful to each and every one of you. Amber, Logan, and Jett came for a visit last Saturday and flew back home to Montana today. Logan went to chess camp at All Saints Episcopal School here in Fort Worth. We really enjoyed their visit and were sad to see them leave. I am posting a few photos we took this morning. Reese has a hard time sitting still for the camera (or anything for that matter), so a photo of all three of the kiddos was difficult (read "impossible"). Photos of Reese have to be taken in the moment and on the move. Maybe we can photoshop one for Grandma Ramsey.

Holy Moly!

Holy Moly! It's amazing how time flies by when you are busy. It has been brought to my attention that I haven't kept the blog current, so I promise to try to do better (notice the word "try"). I would like to say that we stay busy with fabulous projects and exciting events, but we stay busy just surviving. Surviving includes cleaning laundry, doing the dishes, sorting the mail, feeding Reese, bathing Reese(feeding and bathing pretty much go hand-in-hand these days), stopping chores to say "no, Reese, you can't play with that", etc. We have had to pick and choose things that are important to us. Spending time with Reese is important, a perfect house is not. We won the battle of the sippy cup in February. Reese is trying really hard to walk, but she's still not there yet. She has a little walker to use around the house and she uses a toddler's chair to push around at nursery school. She is able to get wherever she wants pretty darn fast. I'm posting new pictures today. Hope you like them. The Texas blue bonnets are starting to bloom, so next weekend we will try to find a field and take more pictures. Hope you and your family are doing well. One more thing... today we are remembering Grandma Ramsey and Gram (Edwards). Both would have celebrated their birthdays today.

Birthday Party - March 8, 2008

We took Reese to my parents' house in Florida for her first birthday party. We had lots of family and a few friends make the journey to Marianna. Thanks to those of you who came! We really appreciate and love you! It was a struggle for us getting there though. Our Thursday afternoon flights to Tallahassee were cancelled, and we finally made it (luggage MIA until Sunday) to Pensacola late Friday night. Then the power went out in all of Marianna on Saturday morning. It shut Wal-Mart down! Since our party supplies were in the missing luggage, Andrew and I drove to Chipley (about 30 miles away) to the nearest Wal-Mart. So much for my efforts driving around to all of the party supply stores in Fort Worth to get great decorations. All of our family pitched in and help set up, and at 3:00 pm, we had a fun little party with a cupcake shaped cake, a cupcake pinata, and our little cupcake... Reese!

Valentine's Day

After we got home from nursery school yesterday, Reese and I made a Valentine for her to give Daddy for Valentine's Day. She was very cooperative as I stamped her feet. This morning, she greeted Daddy by carrying the Valentine into our bedroom. When she got to him, she threw it at him. It was so funny! She loves her Daddy!

First day at the park

Andrew and I took Reese to the park for the first time today. Leblanc Park was busy since it was nice outside. We started our visit with a bucket swing. Reese wasn't too sure about the swing at first, but she was in love as soon as the swing was put into motion. She giggled and smiled... it was so much fun! We also let her play in a big, yellow tube. She thought that was cool. Then we tried a really short slide, but she didn't weigh enough to get a good slide down. Then we went to another bucket swing to finish off the visit. Reese loves to be outside, and I think the park will become a popular outing for us as the weather warms for spring.

The battle of the sippy cup

I'm desparately trying to get Reese to drink from a sippy cup. We are now on our fifth different type of cup, and still no luck. Today, we may have had a breakthrough. Rather than tossing the cup on the floor or screaming at the sight of the cup, Reese actually touched it, picked it up, took one sip, and put it back down. That's all. No screaming, no cup on the floor. I have hope.
